Jeanne enjoyed a life-long romance with her Kenneth. Because he was stationed overseas, they honeymooned in Rome. Jeanne loved telling stories of their three years living in a small Italian village, the weekend trips throughout Europe, and the special joy of the birth of their Bobby while in Italy. Traveling remained a passion for them throughout their lives. Though Jeanne had many talents, her great love, and the skill for which she was renown, was her exquisitely beautiful china painting. She studied in New York, and became an artist of the highest order. Jeanne was also a wonderful teacher. She taught many to love the art of china painting, teaching either in her home studio, or in community colleges throughout eastern NC. Jeanne could paint anything, but one student has remarked that she could paint roses with her eyes shut! Jeanne had a deep love for her family and friends and especially doted on her niece, Kristie, who was like a daughter to her. Jeanne had a special gift for listening to others, hearing the needs of their hearts, and being supportive in any way possible. Among her great gifts was a positive outlook. It was impossible to be around her and not laugh. She led a full, joyous life. Among her greatest joys were her dogs, with Jazzy and Buddy being her most recent children. They brought her comfort, especially when sitting with her, one in her lap, and the other at her head. Jeanne loved the Lord, and served his kingdom in many ways throughout the years. Those who knew and loved Jeanne can now rejoice that she is with her Kenneth in Paradise. She is survived by her son John Robert Hilton of Youngsville.
